(Little Elm Journal) — During a Little Elm Town Council work session on Tuesday, Feb. 18, Fred Gibbs, director of development services for the town of Little Elm, and Jennette Espinosa, executive director for the Little Elm Economic Development Corporation, shared current developments that are underway in Little Elm.
Starting off, the Ace Oaks development located at 2130-2140 Oak Grove Parkway will soon welcome Ace Hardware store and Burn Boot Camp. Additional shell buildings, ranging from 13,503 to 14,733 square feet, remain available for lease. Exterior work on this project is mostly complete with interior inspections underway.
Another commercial site seeing progress is Azure Plaza located at 26565 E. University. Interior and exterior work is in progress, and a dental office is set to occupy part of the 14,780-square-foot development. Additionally, the Braswell High School athletics expansion at 26750 E. University is also moving forward with storm, sewer and water infrastructure completed.
Little Elm Court along FM 423 has recently welcomed several new businesses including Casa Mia, Tiger Sun Martial Arts, The Family Doctors, Jacques Couture Nail Bar and Ivory Dental Studio. Stores opening soon include Bad Ass Coffee, Liquor Mart and Maya Creamery. Three retail spaces remain for future tenants.
In terms of food offerings around town, Chipotle will be opening at 2685 Little Elm Parkway, Auntie Anne’s and Jamba Juice will be opening in the Little Elm Retail center at 2750 Little Elm Parkway, and Thai in Town will be opening at 211 E. Eldorado Parkway in The Lakefront District in the spring.
In addition to retail and commercial growth, the town council has approved several residential projects that are currently underway. The Royal Court Subdivision at the corner of Witt and King Road has received approval for its public infrastructure, and new home construction has begun. In addition, the Ladera development is in its first phase with single-family home construction in progress.
Several other projects are still under review, including Bates Town Crossing — a commercial development in front of Spiritas West — a new Target building within Bates Town Crossing, a Kroger along 380, the Shops at Lakefront, and a Dutch Bros Coffee at 2821 E. Eldorado Parkway.
